The 168th AGM was held on Saturday 26 April 2014 at Buchanan Castle Golf Club. The meeting and prizegiving took place took place at 6.30 and was followed by a buffet supper.
Donnie MacDonald became Vice-President and also took over as secretary from Fiona Glass for a one year term. Stephen Holden became League Convenor and Sandy Park also came onto the committee. Jean Anderson became President of the Ladies Section in place of Elean Bonner.
The results of the main competitions can be found at Archive. Both the main Club and the Ladies Section had awards for the Curler of the Year which went to Gill Smith and Alison Robinson respectively.
This match took place on 21 March. Unfortunately, the result was a bad loss for Strathendrick by 4 shots to 12. For the record, the team was: Maurice Rennie, Stan Moore, Ronnie Myles and Gill Smith.
This match took place on 13 March. Unfortunately, the result was a bad loss for the ladies. The matches were lost by 6 shots to 10 and 2 shots to 19. However, the match and lunch were enjoyed by the participants and guests. For the record, the teams were: Fiona Glass, Carol Hill, Isabel Robertson and Luisella Mosley Muriel Holroyd, Rita Barth, Gail Pain and Norma Thornton.
This match took place on 26 February. Due to the Wednesday date, holidays, operations and bad backs, the Ladies Section really struggled to get 8 ladies to play and eventually finished up with a joint team with West Stirlingshire Ladies Curling Club. The end result of the match was a win for the ladies. The two matches were won by 7 shots to 6 and 8 shots to 5. A decisive win to follow the comprehensive defeat of last year! The match, preceding lunch and following drinks were much enjoyed by the participants. For the record, the teams were: Mary Paterson (WSL), Gill Smith, Maureen Griffiths (WSL) and Barbara Boyter Muriel Holroyd, Alice Somerville (WSL), Elspeth Murdoch and Liz Paterson (WSL). The opposition included some of our own members and local residents, namely, John Bowie, Robin Robinson and Sandy Shearlaw.
Mike Jackson was the leading player from Strathendrick in the Province Points which took place on 21 February. He was awarded the club's Points Trophy.
On 7 February, 4 members of the Club took part in a Stirling Curling Club points competition along with other members of Stirling area clubs. The Seniors part of the competition got rather disrupted, as one of the hacks came out of the ice and we had to play the disciplines from one end of the rink, until it became firm enough to use. This also meant spent quite a bit of time moving stones from one end of the rink to the other. However, Fiona Glass survived the problems to not only win the Senior Ladies' section but also beat the winner of the Senior Men's section. The other 3 players did not do so well.
The annual match against Balfron and Fintry took place on 31 January. The result was extremely close, with each club winning one match and losing the other. Strathendrick were judged to be the winners by being +2 shots with Fintry second on + 1 shot. The detailed results and teams were as follows: The team of Bob Glass, Maurice Rennie, Stan Moore and Gill Smith beat a Fintry team (including Gavin and Caroline Scott) by 10 shots and 7 ends to 3 shots and 1 end; The team of Fiona Glass, Sheila Sturrock, Archie Banks and Ronnie Myles lost to a Balfron team by 5 shots and 3 ends to 10 shots and 5 ends; The third match between Fintry and Balfron (including our own Sandy Park playing for Balfron) resulted in a win for Fintry by 11 shots and 5 ends to 3 shots and 3 ends. This left the clubs with 2 points each but Strathendrick were +2 with 10 ends, Fintry were +1 with 6 ends and Balfron were -3 with 8 ends.
This took place on 28 November. The match was won by Strathendrick Ladies, by virtue of winning one match by 7 shots to 4 and losing the other by 8 shots to 9. This gave them a victory by total shots of 15 to 13 - very close! The match and lunch was much enjoyed by the participants. For the record, the teams were: Fiona Glass, Carol Hill, Norma Mitchell and Rita Hallam. Jenny Knox, Gill Smith, Elspeth Murdoch and Marion Richardson. The opposition included some of our own members, namely, Isabel Robertson, Rita Barth and Rosemary Miller.

The group will fly from Edingurgh to Arlanda via Amsterdam and on to Uppsala. After two games there they will travel to Karlstad for a further two games. A game in Jönköping will follow before travelling to Norrköping and a further two games. The final stop will be Stockholm where the ladies will play their final two games before returning home.

The Texas Scramble took place on 30 August 2013 at Buchanan Castle Golf Club. The weather was mixed with sunshine and showers and 5 teams of 4 took part. The golf was followed by an excellent meal in the club house and a general knowledge quiz.
The winning golf team was Ronnie Myles, Jim Meikle, Barbara Boyter and Di Jackson (repeating her 2012 victory) who accumulated a total of 36 points. Runners-up was the team of Norman Robertson, Gail Pain, George Harris and Bob Glass with 38 points.
The quiz was won by Norman Robertson, Gail Pain, George Harris, Bob Glass and Anne O'Neill, who scored 18 points out of 20. The team of Ronnie Myles, Jim Meikle, Barbara Boyter, Mary MacDonald and Matt Gingles also scored 18 points but in a considerably longer time.
The 167th AGM was held on Thursday 11 April 2013 at the Reception Suite of Glengoyne Distillery. Drinks were served from 7.15 p.m. after which the meeting and prizegiving took place, followed by tea, coffee and shortbread.
Sheila Sturrock became President at the end of the meeting. The only other change to the committee was the replacement of Mike Jackson as league convenor by George Harris.

At the end of the meeting, we were joined by Gifford Rickard representing the RCCC, Grant Farquharson and Betty Montgomery representing Forth & Endrick Province, various curlers from Kippen and Drymen Curling Clubs and Helen Phillips for the presentation by Gifford of a RCCC 50 year medal to John Phillips. The Club also presented him with an engraved decanter to mark the occasion.
