The 171st AGM was held on Friday 21 April 2017 at Buchanan Castle Golf Club. The meeting and prizegiving took place took place at 6.30 and was followed by a buffet supper.
Sandy Park became President of the Club in succession to Donnie MacDonald. Di Jackson succeeded Sandy as Secretary. Tony Flisch was elected onto the committee.
Peter Smith was awarded honorary membership for his services to the Club, in particular to the operating of the website and the processing and printing of the annual booklets.
The results of the main competitions can be found at Archive. Both the main Club and the Ladies Section had awards for the Curler of the Year which went to Jane McLaren and Isabel Robertson respectively.
Strathendrick were the Forth & Endrick representatives in this competition, as holders of the Jim Carswell Cup. In the semi-final Strathendrick pealed with Blairdrummond after 8 ends but narrowly lost on the draw-shot challenge.
Jane McLaren was the skip of the winning team in this competition. Fiona Glass and Helen Watson were in the team which came 6th (the last of the prize-winning teams).
In addition to Strathendrick's team in this Province competition, there were 5 members of the club in the West Stirlingshire teams which finished in third place. Muriel Holroyd, Elspeth Murdoch and Gill Smith played in the first team and Helen Watson and Rosemary Miller in the second team.
Our own Jane McLaren skipped her team to the final of the Women's competition. The opposition in the final was the current World Champions, Jackie Lockhart's team, who won the match by 10 shots to 2. Congratulations to Jane for making the final.
Six members of the club took part in the annual Province Points competition which took place on 27 January. The leading Strathendrick player was Fiona Glass on 34 points, who received the club's Points Trophy.
The Strathendrick Team of Fiona Glass, Helen Watson, Sheila Sturrock and Mary MacDonald were narrowly beaten by Janette Wilson's team in the Henderson Bishop local play-offs. Peeled going into last end and finished with a measure on last Skips' stones. Unfortunately we were 1/2 centimetre out.
The Texas Scramble took place on 2 September 2016 at Buchanan Castle Golf Club. The weather was good and 5 teams of 3 took part. The golf was followed by an excellent meal in the club house and a general knowledge quiz with 4 teams of 5 people.
The winning golf team was Fiona Glass, Donnie MacDonald and a last minute substitute (Lizzie McLeod), who accumulated a total of 52 points.
The quiz was won by Rita Harris, Roz Macgowan, Anne Lang and John and Jean Anderson, who correctly answered 15 questions out of 20.
Several Strathendrick ladies took part in the annual outing, this year to Crieff. Isabel Robertson won the 18 hole competition and Elspeth Murdoch was the winner over 9 holes.

There were no changes to the committee but Gill Smith became President of the Ladies Section in place of Jean Anderson.
Stephen Holden was awarded honorary membership for his past service to the Club.
