Annual General Meeting

The 2012 Annual General Meeting was held on Tuesday 24 April at 19.30 in Buchlyvie Village Hall. Alastair Beaton of Port of Menteith Curling Cub stepped down after his year as President and Grant Farquharson of Balfron Curling Club became President for the new season. Muriel Holroyd of West Stirlingshire Ladies Curling Club became the next Vice President.

Prizes were presented for the various competitions and details were given of the Province's involvement in National and International competitions.

Province Championship

The Province was represented by Fintry Curling Club in this competition

Lauren Gray

Lauren Gray was a member of Hannah Fleming's team which won the Scottish Junior Women's Championship and also the World Juniors title in Sweden. Many congratulations to Lauren from the Province on these wins.

She was also a member of Hannah Fleming's team which came third in the Scottish Women's Championships.

Lauren Gray of Balfron played in Hannah Fleming's team, which won the John Shea Insurance Ottawa Valley Curling Association Junior Superspiel in Canada at the beginning of November. Lauren also won this competition last year with her own team.

Annette MacDonald

Annette MacDonald of West Stirlingshire Ladies narrowly failed to defend the National Masters Championship at Greenacres. Her team including Mary Paterson of Fintry and Fiona Glass of Strathendrick lost the final by 6 shots to 8.

Marshall Falconer

The Province were saddened to hear the news of the sudden death of Marshall Falconer of Strathendrick, on 1 July. Many Province members will remember Marshall skipping teams in the Robert Paterson Shield and other competitions. Several members of Province clubs attended the funeral along with many Strathendrick members. The Province sends condolences to his wife Margaret, daughter Margaret, son Andrew and the rest of his family.

The 2011 Annual General Meeting was held on Tuesday 19 April at 19.30 in the Committee Room of Killearn Village Hall. Helen Watson of Drymen Curling Cub stepped down after her year as President and Alastair Beaton of Port of Menteith Curling Club became President for the new season. Grant Farquharson of Balfron Curling Club became the next Vice President.

Prizes were presented for the various competitions and details were given of the Province's involvement in National and International competitions.
