Annual General Meeting

The 2013 Annual General Meeting was held on Tuesday 16 April at Balfron Masonic Hall. Grant Farquharson of Balfron Curling Cub stepped down after his year as President and Muriel Holroyd of West Stirlingshire Ladies Curling Club became President for the new season. Ann Hutchison of Forest Hills Trossachs Curling Club became the next Vice President.

There was discussion about the application by the Buccaneers Curling Club to join the Province and they were formally welcomed as members at the Draw meeting the following week. There was also approval of the revised Constitution and discussion of the revised competition rules which had been applied during the year. Prizes were presented for the various competitions and details were given of the Province's involvement in National and International competitions.

National Masters

Annette Macdonald's team of Raye Rickard, Mary Paterson and Irene Hird were beaten finalists in this competition at Greenacres.

Henderson Bishop

Janette Wilson of West Stirlingshire Ladies was skip of the winning team at Stranraer. Norma Brown of Kippen was playing at third.

Gray family of Balfron

At the Scottish Championships, Lauren Gray was in Hannah Fleming's team who were the defeated finalists in the Women's competition and Logan's team were the defeated finalists in the Men's competition.

Lauren was in Hannah Fleming's Junior Scottish Champions Women's team who went on to win silver in the World Junior Women's Championship in Sochi. She also went to Riga as alternate in Eve Muirhead's World Championship winning team.

Grand Masters

John Phillips, Bill Watt, Robert Armstrong and Bill Allan played in the Grand Masters (for players over a certain age) at Greenacres. They won the overall competition. This is John, Robert and Bill Watt's second win in this event as they were in the winning team in the inaugural event in 2009.

Province Championship

The Province will be represented by Drymen Curling Club in this competition which takes place between 16 and 18 November at Greenacres.

Alastair Beaton of Port of Menteith Curling Cub stepped down after his year as President and Grant Farquharson of Balfron Curling Club became President for the new season. Muriel Holroyd of West Stirlingshire Ladies Curling Club became the next Vice President.

Prizes were presented for the various competitions and details were given of the Province's involvement in National and International competitions.
