Province Points Competition 2021/22

Due to the current arrangements for ice bookings on Thursdays and the uncertainty caused by the Covid 19 pandemic, it was decided not to attempt to hold the Annual Points competition in 2021/22.

The Province held the competition within the Beattie Points, which took place on Wednesday 02 March 2022 at 20.30 in the Arena at The Peak.

8 Province curlers took part. The numbers being reduced due to the late time, Covid infections and other commitments. The players represented 4 of the Province clubs between them. 8 disciplines were played giving a maximum of 64 points.

  • Brian Ferguson of Buccaneers won the Open section with 41 points. James Dunn of Loch Ard was second on 35 Points.
  • Connor MacCallum of Loch Ard was second in the Under 16 category with a very creditable 22 points.
  • Derek Young of Drymen won the Senior section with 39 points. Ben Somerville of Balfron was joint second on 33 points.
  • The winner of Betty's Bucket for the highest combined score was Loch Ard with a total of 65 (James Dunn 35 and Craig MacCallum 30). Just behind in second place were Balfron with a total of 63 (Ben Somerville 33 and Grant Farquharson 30).
