We nearly managed an outdoor bonspiel in January 2002 when the ice was marked out and a few practice stones thrown. However, an overnight thaw prevented a game.
Curling on Drumore Pond, 9 January 2003
2003 started with what we curlers call better weather. It remained cold for an extended period but with little snow allowing thick smooth ice to form. Curling took place on the pond for the first time for many years on 8 January.
